Fitch "Forever Young" June 16. 2006 - March 5, 2007
Fitch fought his potential abductors and by doing so he saved the life of his brother Abercrombie. Unfortunately Fitch could not recover from the injuries he received from these cruel and heartless people and he succumbed.
Fitch lost his battle for life on March 5, 2007 at 11:56pm at the University of Georgia. Rest in Peace Dear Brave Fitch... For you we will continue to fight!!!

Gayle's SamPure Thoughts was going to an auction in North Carolina and, Gayle, one of the supporters, called Jen and said, my birthday is on Halloween and, instead of gifts, I have decided to save a horse that is going to slaughter. She also said, Jen, you have to promise me that you will not let me bring this horse home. Jen said, I promise.
Tracy out bid a killer buyer and brought Sam to the Pure Thoughts facility in Honeapath, SC. Sam was later transported to the Florida facility at the end of October and Gayle paid a visit to see the horse that she saved. The plan to find a good home was working until, Sam walked across a pasture and waited to say “Goodbye”.
Goodbye never occurred and Sam is leaving Pure Thoughts on February 23, 2008 to go home with Gayle. Gayle is sure that the decision to keep Sam is not a “Gayle” decision because Gayle is much more rational.
Sam was bred and raised for competition in cutting events. He went to the auction because he was not big enough, mature enough or fast enough. He came to Pure Thoughts as a very quiet, uncomplicated horse that did not know he had the right to ask for anything. Living at Pure Thoughts has allowed Sam to feel safe enough to let someone know when he wants something.
Here is Sam having a temper tantrum because he could not stay with his buddy, Felix. He is stomping his feet, whinnying and swishing his tail. Gayle loves the gift that has been given to Sam by Pure Thoughts and she loves the birthday gift that she gave to herself. Jen has never even apologized for not keeping her promise.

Itty Bit and his GirlHere is Itty Bit who was rescued from the Ebensburg auction in Pennsylvania last Spring. The in late October he was adopted as a Christmas gift for a little girl.. Well it looks like it was Itty Bits present too. He sure seems to love his girl. Mom said that she is the only one that can catch him in the pasture, he allows her to do anything. Here are some pictures of the two of them. Sure reminds us what this is all about.

Sunny & MiloI wanted to give you this update on Sunny... She totally trusts me and Bobby
now, and she is just the sweetest horse ever!
We brought home a special little "someone" to be a companion for my OTTB
Rally, since he has been wanting a friend and the mini's did not work out
(they attacked him - the little brats!). We tried Sunny with Rally, but she
could not tolerate him "pestering" her, so she would kick him a LOT and gave
him several deep cuts on his front legs... Rally has the disadvantage of not
being socialized during his first 3 years of life, and we had only found one
young colt at a boarding stable that he could stay with that wouldn't kick
and bite him all the time. Rally doesn't know how to properly defend himself
from kicks.
The special "someone" is a mini-donkey named Milo! He is only 6 months old
and he has just been weaned from his mother. He is such a cute, sweet,
precious little fellow! We brought Milo home on Saturday, and tried to
slowly introduce Rally & Milo - Unfortunately, Rally intimidated little Milo
with his high energy and intensity and Milo got chased all around the
pasture at high speed! I was very disappointed that it was not going to work
out with Rally (at least while Milo is still a baby), but I had fallen in
love with this little guy and didn't want him to go back home, SO...we tried
him with Sunny - And oh my goodness, it was love at first sight! Sunny
immediately started taking care of Milo and protecting him like she was his
own mother, and Milo absolutely loves being taken care of like that! We know
Sunny has had foals, and we also know she was separated from her foal before
that awful Sugarcreek auction in May of last year (she still had dried milk
on her teats).
